European eGovernment Awards 2009

We are just making the final preparations for our participation in the European eGovernment Awards 2009, which are being held to coincide with the 5th Ministerial eGovernment Conference in Malmö, Sweden on 19th/20th November.
One of the national public procurement websites that we operate, Public Contracts Scotland, has been chosen as a finalist in the catchily titled category ‘eGovernment enabling administrative efficiency and effectiveness.’ We’re one of only three finalists from the UK, the others being KentTV, a publicly funded broadband TV channel and Liverpool City Council’s eGovernment services which are delivered through their website.
We are pleased to have received a congratulatory message from the Office of the Government Chief Information Officer at the Cabinet Office and Minister of State for the Cabinet Office, Angela Smith, will also be visiting the Public Contracts Scotland exhibition stand during the conference.
