This work is awarded as part of the government-owned company’s brand new six-year Scheme Delivery Framework (SDF).
Harlow Council: We’re going net zero carbon by 2024
Harlow Council has agreed a target date for hitting Net Zero carbon emissions by 2040, and their carbon reduction plan includes the following actions:
◆ Council will only buy electric cars from 2022/23
◆ No new gas boilers in council operational buildings from 2025/26
◆ HTS to commit to Net Zero by 2040 too
◆ Next waste contract to include commitment to reach Net Zero by the end of it
Engagement into plans for cycle route reaches final week
National Highways launched the engagement on plans for a six-mile long route which will link Chichester with Emsworth along the A259 on 22 July. The route, which is currently part of the National Cycle Network route 2, will link into the Centurion Way (former railway conversion) and other local routes on the Manhood peninsula towards Chichester.
Manx government borrows £400m to spend on major projects
The Isle of Man has borrowed £400 million to cover a range of major national projects focusing on areas such as clean transportation, energy efficiency, affordable housing, education and healthcare.
National Highways announces new road numbers for A428 Black Cat to Caxton Gibbet scheme
A 10-mile section of new road to be delivered as part of a proposed major upgrade in Bedfordshire and Cambridgeshire is set to be named A421. When the A428 Black Cat to Caxton Gibbet improvements scheme opens in 2025/2026, the new dual carriageway will become an extension of the existing A421, which currently stops at the Black Cat Roundabout, through to Caxton Gibbet junction.
£110m investment for frontline radio communications
A £110 million contract has been awarded to deliver the new Defence Strategic Radio Service (DSRS) to critical military operations.
