Levelling Up Fund Round 2
The first round of the Levelling Up Fund supported £1.7 billion of projects in over 100 local areas across all corners of the UK.
A lot of opportunities for work were created from Round 1, and with Round 2 you can expect many more. Councils have until Wednesday 6 July to apply.

Tenfold expansion in chargepoints by 2030 as government drives EV revolution
EV charging is to be made easier for the public with a £1.6bn investment under the Electric Vehicle Infrastructure Strategy, and will see:
◆ Expanded UK charging network of around 300,000 public chargers to be available by 2030.
◆ £500 million will be invested to bring high quality, competitively priced public chargepoints to communities across the UK.
◆ £950m to rollout at least 6,000 high powered super-fast chargepoints across England’s motorways by 2035.
◆ New standards for chargepoint operators, helping drivers find nearby chargers and pay easily.

Construction of Welborne Garden Village in Fareham guaranteed after £41.25m grant for M27 junction work
Welborne Garden Village has been in the pipeline for more than 2 decades, and will now become a reality thanks to $41.25m funding from Homes England. The project had been prevented because the infrastructure for it was not in place, but this funding allows the necessary upgrades to the M27 to be made.

All schools to have high speed internet by 2025
Every school in England will have access to high speed internet by 2025, as part of the latest plans to roll out lightning-fast gigabit broadband across the UK.

2022/23 Budget approved at Full Council
North Norfolk District Council’s 2022-23 budget has been approved and includes:
◆ Improvements to North Walsham town centre – including a new bus interchange
New and refurbished public toilets in Fakenham, Wells, North Walsham and Sheringham.
◆ Phase 2 of the Cromer Coastal Management scheme
◆ Mundesley Coastal Management Scheme
◆ Improved facilities for the Pavilion Theatre
