Stoke-on-Trent council set to reveal £56m levelling up plans
£56m has been secured to make way for significant city centre redevelopments, and includes Etruscan Square (which includes a 3,600-seat arena, 285 new homes and a three-star hotel) a 701-space car park, a conference centre and commercial developments.
Scottish bodies get £100m to reduce emissions
£100m worth of funding has been announced to help public bodies, such as the NHS, reduce their carbon emissions. The funding with help parts of the public sector improve their energy efficiency and install low-carbon heat systems.
Derry council to submit £38m Levelling Up bids for new Strabane leisure centre and Creggan Reservoir development
As part of the UK Government’s next round of Levelling Up funding, Derry City & Strabane District Council plans to submit bids for projects worth £38m. The first bid is for a new leisure centre to replace the current Riversdale Centre, and the second is for enhancements to be made at the Creggan Reservoir/Creggan Country Park.
North Wales commuter road to finally get repaired after storm damage
Wrexham Council has received £2.8m from the Welsh Government to carry out vital repairs to the B5605 in Newbridge, and repairs are expected to begin later this year.
Welsh Government announces £182m fund to provide specialist housing and accommodation
The Housing with Care Fund aims to deliver homes that offer a stable and secure base and are designed to meet the needs of their residents. The fund also intends to increase the total stock of extra care housing in Wales by up to a third over the next four years.

Six Scottish islands announced for carbon neutral project
Hoy, Islay, Great Cumbrae, Raasay, Barra and Yell will have plans developed to reduce their emissions by 2040. Depending on when plans are developed and work begins, we could see related tenders getting published.
